It was built in Stuttgart from 1948 to 1965. The 356 A, introduced in 1955, received a one-piece curved windshield, revised suspension, and a more powerful engine. The bodies came from the Reutter workshops. This example was built in 1956. The current owner had the car imported from Switzerland in 2014. As a body shop professional, he subsequently undertook a complete restoration of the car. This restoration is documented by photos in the appraisal report.
