Entering production for 2013 and competing directly with Ferrari and McLaren, these three titans of the supercar market developed their latest generation of hybrid-electric hypercars, primed for the 21st century. Unveiled all within the same calendar year, all three not only pushed the limits of performance but also did so as efficiently and sustainably as possible. Each offering a unique perspective on the optimal solution for harvesting and deploying hybrid energy, the 918 Spyder, LaFerrari, and P1 all helped lay the framework for hybrid-electric performance vehicles, variations of which are offered in their latest creations. Even if the performance facts and figures produced by the 918 Spyder are well known by now, they continue to astonish. A mid-engine 4.6-liter, dry sump V8 combined with two electric motors, one driving each axle, produces a total output of 887 PS at 8,500 rpm and 1,280 Nm of torque. That power is transmitted through a lightning-fast seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. The optional €60.000 Weissach Package trimmed 40 kg by incorporating magnesium wheels, titanium bolts, lighter brakes, and carbon fiber aerodynamic upgrades, bringing the total weight down to 1,634 kg. As a result, the sprint to 100 km/h dropped to just 2.6 seconds, with 200 km/h arriving in 7.3 seconds. Naturally, Porsche took a Weissach-equipped 918 Spyder and its staggering 345 km/h top speed to the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where it promptly set a blistering lap record of 6 minutes and 57 seconds. Less widely known are the thousands of hours invested in testing the two dozen prototypes and development cars around the globe. Each 918 required roughly 120 hours to assemble—compared to just two days for a standard 911 of the era. This German-market 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is one of just 918 examples worldwide, made even more exclusive by full "to sample" individual specification inside and out. Limitation number 142 is finished in the ultra-rare Individualfarbe Paint to Sample Sport Classic Grey, originally created for the first Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur series production car—the 997-generation 911 Sport Classic. Deeper research into the model reveals that it is the singular European delivery 918 Spyder so finished, with just a handful of 918 owners worldwide opting for this rare, historic hue. Interestingly, while in high demand today, the Individualfarbe option was chosen by very few buyers in the 918 era. Just as rare is the selection of Leather to Sample Espresso leather upholstery with Espresso piping, a CXX Z-Order that cost more than even the Authentic Leather Upgrade at €22.700 Unsurprisingly, this highly individualized 918 Spyder also features the optional weight-saving Weissach Package with its host of exterior carbon fiber upgrades and exceptional magnesium wheels finished in Silver. Its factory digital build sheet reveals that the 918 included numerous factory-fitted options. Front Axle Lift System, Carbon Fiber Interior Package, Burmester High-End Surround Sound System, and 6-Point Racing Harnesses are among desirable options listed on the 918's digital build sheet. Originally delivered through Porsche Zentrum Düsseldorf, the service book for this impressive 918 Spyder records a complete history of visits from delivery onward, with inspections at the two-, four-, six-, and 10-year intervals. Service work was primarily conducted at Porsche Zentrum Stuttgart. Porsche Centrum Gelderland saw the hypercar in March 2025 for its 10-year inspection, fresh oil, new spark plugs, and a service at 15,416 kilometers.
